Alipurduar University is the first state aided University in the Alipurduar district. Alipurduar University provided courses for UG and PG. The university provides a range of courses under (UG and PG) streams Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce. It provides co-education with a safe environment for all the students. AU’s emphasis is on the overall growth of the students and promoting curricular activities(CCA) and quality education for all.
The University is affiliated with the University of North Bengal (NBU) till 2018. It became a separate institute in 2018 by an act of the West Bengal Act VXII of 2018(Alipur University Act 2018). The University is named ‘Alipurduar university’ from Alipurduar College itself. It is spread over North Bengal.

B.B.A. HONOURS PROGRAM AND B.A. /B.SC./ B.COM. PROGRAM UNDER THE
CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM [CBCS] shall be applicable only to full time Under
Graduate Courses and shall not apply to Vocational Courses.”
